You are expected to be at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center at 12pm (noon).

What is the dress code for the ceremony?

All: Business Casual attire should be worn underneath your gown- No Jeans or Boots! Please wear nice shoes that you are comfortable to walk in because it is a lengthy walk across the graduation stage. Officially sanctioned regalia is also required to participate in the graduation ceremony.

Gentlemen: If you wear a suit, leave your jacket with your guests. You will be sitting/standing for an extended period of time.  To avoid the risk of overheating or becoming uncomfortable, do not wear a jacket during the ceremony itself.

Where do I purchase my regalia?

Officially sanctioned regalia is required to participate in the graduation ceremony.  Graduation Regalis must be purchased at the university-wide Graduation Central Fair.  Graduation Central will be held on April 11 (Tues) and April 12 (Wed) from 11am to 7pm in the J.W. The cost of cap and gown (including your hood and tassel) will be $57 (plus tax).  Please visit the university store website for additional information (including how to purchase graduation announcements). No other separate orders will be taken so please be sure to attend Graduation Central and purchase your cap and gown at that time.

What do I need to bring with me to the ceremony?

Be sure to bring all of four (4) pieces of regalia: robe; hood (blue and gold); cap; and tassel to the event.  If you do not have all of the pieces in your regalia package, you will not be allowed to participate in the ceremony. Is there a secure place where I can keep my belongings during the ceremony?

No. To avoid the loss or theft of personal articles, please leave personal belongings with family or friends: bags, purses, cameras, phones, etc.  There will not be a secure area for you to store your belongings during the ceremony.

Is there assigned seating for the ceremony?

No, guest seating is on a first come, first seated basis!

Is photography allowed?

A professional photographer by Grad Images will be in attendance to take each graduates photograph during the ceremony. Guests are also welcome to take their own photos while being courteous to other guests and graduates. Please do not pose for photographs as you walk across the stage.

You will be emailed directly by Grad Images after the ceremony with information on how to purchase photographs.

I would like to invite more guests than my alloted ticket amount, can I receive more tickets?

Each guest is required to have a ticket in order to attend the ceremony. If the number of tickets you need exceeds the number of tickets allotted, you may inform us at the time of ticket pick-up how many extra tickets you need. We also reccomend contacting classmates to see if anyone has extra tickets that they would be willing to give away.

Are the facilities handicapped accessible?

Yes. Please contact your academic advisor for further information.

I received an email about graduation on Thursday, April 26th, but this website states April 28th. Which is correct?

The Katz Graduation Ceremony will be held on Friday, APril 27th.

The University is also holding a seperate ceremony for graduate students on Thursday, April 26th.

You are welcome to attend both ceremonies, but you will need to RSVP for both ceremonies separately. You are not required to attend both. Most Katz students only attend our ceremony.
